WIPO DG pays courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam received Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry in Hanoi on March 23 rd 2017.
At his reception, Mr. Vu Duc Dam expressed his thanks to Mr. Francis Gurry for the support to Vietnam in building and fine-tuning the country’s legal system on intellectual property, enhancing capacity of agencies in protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, developing intellectual property assets, training human resources, raising public awareness on intellectual property…

The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam and WIPO Director General Francis Gurry 

Deputy Prime Minister identified the role of assisting enterprises in commercializing intellectual property assets, contributing to the implementation of the project “Supporting the national innovative startup ecosystem through 2025”. He suggested WIPO continue cooperating with and supporting Vietnam in building a national strategy on intellectual property, in order to create an impetus for innovation process in Vietnam. 
WIPO Director General Francis Gurry reaffirmed the positive outcomes of the cooperation in intellectual property between Vietnam and WIPO. He also confirmed its continuing support to Vietnam in implementing a number of projects, namely building a national strategy on intellectual property, developing resource and management diagnostic of IP Offices, promoting intellectual property asset commercialization through IP-Hub.
