WIPO Director General pays courtesy call on State President

Mr. Tran Dai Quang pledged Vietnam’s continuing efforts to ensure effective protection, management and enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as facilitating mechanisms and policies to accelerate IP asset commercialization and technology transfer. Additionally, Vietnam has taken gradually steps to raise public awareness on intellectual property assets to assist SMES in increasing competiveness and attracting foreign investments.

Vietnam also focuses on international integration on intellectual property by joining international conventions on intellectual property and implementing intellectual property commitments in commercial agreements, affirmed Mr. Tran Dai Quang. 

Mr. Tran Dai Quang expressed his thanks to the active cooperation of WIPO for Vietnam in recent years and stated that in the future, the two sides should promote technical cooperation in bilateral aspects, especially in establishing the national strategy on intellectual property and facilitating Viet Nam to continue participating in general mechanisms of WIPO.
Mr. Francis Gurry highly appreciated statement of Vietnam on intellectual property and thanked Vietnam for the support for activities of WIPO during the past years. Mr. Francis Gurry confirmed that the two sides will closely cooperate in the future./.
